How To buy a good used car...cheap!

If you're in the market to purchase an inexpensive used car, there are a few things you can do to ensure that you get a good deal. First off, investing in a used car is smart choice because you can save up to 20 to 30 percent even on a vehicle that is just one year old. Some used cars are even still under factory warranty and often times you can purchase a certified used car, which will include a warranty. However, it is important to do your homework before stepping foot inside a dealership. Do your research on the web and check several sources to determine the value of any vehicles you are interested in so you can negotiate well with a dealer. Use local classified ads and pricing guides to demonstrate that you are making an acceptable offer. Once you are ready to make an offer, begin with an amount that is less than the price you are willing to pay and work your way up from there. Mention any equipment problems or anything needing repair that was found during inspection to justify your low offer and remember that if your offer is low but one that still allows the dealer to profit, you may just get a great bargain. How to buy cars online without getting ripped off. Good advice from Northshore auto industry veteran, Al Sigler. Purchasing a car

can be a daunting task but you can save yourself time, money and a lot of hassle by doing your research online. You can

browse the web for information, pricing and to locate the specific vehicle you are interested in but it is still a good bet to

invest time in selecting the right dealer. Often times a car salesperson will try to sell you a car at sticker price but you can

save big by using a dealership with an online car sales department, which will disclose more information and be more

straightforward with you. When you have narrowed down your search, take the time to test drive vehicles so that you can

experience what driving conditions will be like. Once you have made a final decision on your car purchase, get a vehicle

history report to avoid buying a car with pricey hidden problems. For more information, call Al at 847-933-9300 7501 N.

In this digital age more consumers than ever are shopping for cars and trucks online. For those that are willing to take the chance and buy a car or truck on the internet, there are phenomenal deals to be had. Buying a good used car can be tricky enough when you physically go to a dealership and see the cars with your own eyes. How then do you buy a car online without getting ripped off?

Buyer beware, cars and trucks are not always what they appear to be. There are some basic things that you can do to protect yourself from fraud, misrepresentation and thievery.

1.       Find out the vehicle’s history. Always ask for a vehicle history report! This report will tell you the history of the vehicle. Has the vehicle been in a flood, totaled, etc? Any reputable dealer will be glad to provide this. It is a red flag if the dealer or individuals have a problem doing this for you.

2.       Know the value of your prospective vehicle purchase. You can find bluebook prices online. If a car is listed at a much lower price than the bluebook value, ask the seller why. Although you will find the best deals on the internet, the old adage “if it seems too good to be true, it probably is” still holds true.

3.       Get to know your seller. Ask questions. Start a conversation. Is the seller responsive? Ask how many cars they have previously sold online.
